  • Supporting Our Friends: Dustin & Sara Gunderson’s IVF Journey

    Hi everyone, Porchbrat here.

Today, I’m writing a different kind of post. This one is personal, and it’s about two wonderful people in our community who need our support: Dustin and Sara Gunderson.

Many of you may know them as the amazing creators behind CockatielFrenzyShop. They show an incredible commitment to their fans and fellow bird fanatics, creating fantastic graphic designs of their beloved birds on hoodies, t-shirts, mugs, and more. They are even planning to add natural wood, bird-safe toys to their shop soon, which shows just how dedicated they are to the bird-loving community.

Dustin is also a key part of our team, working as a manager with the Porchbrat Live Agency on TikTok. He puts so much effort into helping other creators grow and succeed.

Dustin and Sara have a deeply personal dream: to start their family. They are on a difficult and expensive IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) journey, and the emotional and financial costs are significant.

Sara recently shared their story in her own words. You can hear directly from her in this video:

As a community, we have a chance to show them the same love and support they’ve shown us. They have started a GoFundMe to help with the overwhelming costs of their IVF treatments.

This is where we come in.

If you are able, please consider donating to their GoFundMe. Any amount helps and shares a powerful message of support. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing the link with your own friends and family.

Here is the link to their GoFundMe page:

Let’s rally around our friends and help them make their dream of becoming parents a reality.

Thank you for being such a caring community.

  • The Quiet Work of Rebuilding Your Sense of Self

Some of the most profound challenges we face don’t come from loud, obvious conflicts, but from quiet, disorienting dynamics in our personal or professional lives. It’s the slow erosion of self-trust that can leave the deepest marks.

    This experience often involves:

    • A shifting reality: Consistently having your perception of events questioned or denied, leaving you wondering if you’re being overly sensitive or misremembering things you know happened.
    • Walking on eggshells: A constant, low-level anxiety that comes from trying to manage another person’s emotional state, carefully choosing your words and actions to avoid an unpredictable negative reaction.
    • A one-sided emotional landscape: Pouring energy, empathy, and support into a connection, only to find that it is rarely, if ever, reciprocated. Your needs are consistently secondary.
    • Feeling invisible: Your accomplishments are minimized or co-opted, your feelings are dismissed, and you begin to feel more like an accessory to someone else’s life than the main character in your own.

The residue of this dynamic can seep into all areas of life, causing you to second-guess your decisions at work, doubt your intuition in new relationships, and feel a deep sense of exhaustion you can’t quite explain.

The first step toward clarity is often the quietest: giving yourself permission to trust your own feelings.

Rebuilding is not an overnight process. It’s the practice of:

    • Trusting Your Intuition: Honoring that small, persistent voice inside that tells you something feels off, even when you can’t logically explain why
    • Setting Small Boundaries: Starting with something as simple as “I can’t discuss this right now” or not answering a text immediately. Each small boundary is a brick in the foundation of your new self-respect.
    • Reconnecting with Yourself: Rediscovering the hobbies, friendships, and opinions you may have let fade. Asking yourself, “What do I actually want?” and listening for the answer
    • Seeking External Validation: Talking to a trusted friend, mentor, or therapist who can reflect your reality back to you and confirm that you are not, in fact, “crazy.”

It’s a complex journey to find solid ground again after your inner compass has been spun. But your reality is valid, your feelings are important, and you have the strength to recalibrate.

Here’s to finding your true north again.

  • Creator Spotlight: Let’s Rally for a Queen & Her Kingdom

Here at Porch Brat, we are a family. Today, we’re putting the spotlight on one of our most passionate creators and managers, Adele, known to many of you as the incredible ThaPirateQueen.

Anyone who’s been in her streams knows the amazing energy she brings. Her talent for engaging her community is undeniable. Just last month, she was a creative whirlwind, earning over 11,600 diamonds and streaming for more than 33 hours—a true testament to her dedication.

Life, however, sometimes presents storms that are too big to sail through alone. Adele is currently facing a significant personal hardship where her housing is at risk, and she is channeling all her energy into securing a stable foundation for herself. It is a testament to her incredible strength that even while navigating this, she has still managed to stream 16 times for over 25 hours this month.

This is where the power of community comes in. We’re putting out a call to anyone who needs creative work from a proven and dedicated artist. By hiring Adele, you are not only getting a project handled by a professional with a track record of incredible engagement, but you are making a direct, immediate, and profound impact. You are helping an artist keep her home.

    How You Can Support Adele:

    • Hire Her for a Project: Do you need her skills? graphic design, content creation, social media management? She is currently accepting new clients. You can view her work and contact her here
    • Commission a Piece: This is the perfect time to get that custom piece of art or content you’ve been thinking about.
    • Share Her Portfolio: Share a link to her work on your social media. A personal recommendation is one of the most powerful tools we have to support one another.

Let’s show the world what happens when a community stands with its creators.

  • What is a ‘PorchBrat’? The Philosophy Behind Our Community.

What’s more valuable in today’s world: a framed degree on the wall, or the hard-earned grit from real-world experience? We’re often taught to value the traditional path and the polished resume. But what about the wisdom gained from the factory floor, the lessons learned from a failed venture, or the expertise built one customer at a time? This is the story of the undervalued, the underestimated, and the unapologetically real.

For too long, we’ve let gatekeepers decide who gets a seat at the table. They look at a resume but don’t see the resilience behind the job gaps. They see a lack of a formal degree but ignore the Ph.D. in street smarts earned through years of hard work. In the creator world, this is even more true. We’re pressured to present a perfect, polished brand, hiding the messy, beautiful, and often difficult reality of the work that goes into building something from nothing

So, what is a PorchBrat? We are the answer to that polished perfection. A PorchBrat is a builder, a creator, and a leader who wears their real-world experience as a badge of honor. We are the ones who learned business by doing business, who built our skills in the trenches, not just in the classroom. Our philosophy is simple: your grit is your gift. Your unique story is your most powerful asset, and the struggles you’ve overcome are the source of your greatest strengths. The porch is our boardroom—a place for real talk, honest support, and strategies that actually work.

This is more than a brand; it’s a movement. So, if you’re a creator with a story to tell, a brand that values authenticity over everything, or just someone who believes in the power of real-world grit, then you’re already one of us. Welcome to PorchBrat. Pull up a chair. You belong here
